Dear Parents,
As we continue to work through the challenges that COVID-19 continues to bring to all of us, I would like to provide you with the following information regarding actions we are taking at Lindbergh Elementary to ensure student safety.
Out of an abundance of caution we will begin daily testing of students in one of our classes. Three students in that class were identified as being positive for the COVID-19 virus. This action is being taken after consultation and recommendations from health experts at Wayne County and to prevent any further spread of COVID-19 in our school. If you have not received communication from the school, this does not directly affect your child’s class.
To ensure we are all doing our part, we are reminding families to please complete the daily COVID screener for each of your children and yourself if you are visiting the school. If your child has any symptoms of COVID-19 please keep your child home and take them to a local clinic or other facility for testing. Remember, COVID-19 symptoms are very similar to those of a cold or flu so please don’t automatically classify them as non-COVID. If your child has been tested, they will need to remain home until the results have come back.
For more information, please visit the district’s COVID-19 webpage for information on how to monitor for symptoms and steps to take if you are notified that your child is officially considered a Close Contact.
Taking these precautionary steps now will help to ensure we are keeping our school a safe place for all students. Please feel free to contact me at (313) 827-6300 if you have any questions or concerns.
Regards,
Ms. Tiba, Principal
