Have a wonderful day and enjoy your weekend.

Dear Families

This week we will begin to ask parents to bring in their children for one-one or small group testing (3 or less) on NWEA and DRA. This testing is required by the state and included in our district’s learning plan. Teachers will be reaching out to you and setting up appointments. Most students will require two testing appointments. The timeframe of the appointments  for students will vary depending on the grade and may require another visit to the school to complete. To the greatest extent possible, testing appointments will not interfere with students’ instructional time. As a result this assessment process may take several weeks to complete. We appreciate your understanding and support. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to us.

For the health and safety of our students, staff and parents, we require any person that is entering the school building to be screened. All staff are required to wear a mask at all times and follow safety protocols. Students will have designated waiting areas outside that are six feet apart from each other. Once screened, students wearing a mask will enter the building, sanitize their hands and be escorted to a classroom. The classroom will have no more than three students. In addition, we will have no new students enter that classroom until the entire group has left the classroom and it has been disinfected.  WE are asking that parents do not enter the school building. There will be staff available to help students transition from outside to inside and back again. There are disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer all over the building and in classrooms. Please know our top priority is the safety of our students, staff and families.

Have a wonderful day!

Update Emergency Cards

Parents please go to parent connect and update your child’s emergency cards if you haven’t yet. Deadline has been extended to Oct. 5th, 2020. Very important to have correct contacts while everyone is working online.

Thank you! Have a wonderful day!

ATTENDANCE

Dear Parents,

A friendly reminder: Even though school is online now, attendance is still being taken. The same procedures as before for absences are required if your child cannot attend class. If your child is absent, sick or having technical issues please let the school know by doing at least one of these options: Emailing teacher, going to parent connect and follow the instructions for absences, calling the attendance line available 24hrs and leave a message (313) 827-6301. Please make sure you clearly state the date, name of the child, teacher and reason for absence.

Thank you for your patience and consideration during these trying times. We will get through this. Stay strong!!!!

Parent Commitment for Student Screener

Dear Parents,

As we begin implementing learning labs next week, we would greatly appreciate if you can complete the form attached.  This form is a district requirement and must be completed before students can enter the building.  Please make sure that you are completing the form for each individual child in your household.  Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Parent Commitment Form

After you have completed the commitment form, it is expected that parents please answer the screener checklist questions prior to bringing your child to school on that day.
