Lindbergh Elementary Apparel Order

Lindbergh is proud to have earned both Blue Ribbon and Lighthouse status this year! None of this would have been possible without each and every member of the Lindbergh community flying the spirit of success together. For this reason we thought it would be nice to have new shirts made to show our Lindbergh pride!

Please complete the order form we will be sending home if you are interested in any of the items and return it to your child’s classroom teacher with the correct amount in cash by Tuesday, January 14, 2020. All shirts will be in the color royal blue to symbolize our prestigious Blue Ribbons status!

Additional order forms will be available in the office.

Have a wonderful day!

S.T.A.R. Program Reminder-few spots remaining

Dear Flyers Family,

I am very excited to announce two after school programs to help keep students moving! The programs will be offered once a week on Wednesday’s and run from 3:45pm – 4:45pm beginning in the New Year.

  • S.T.A.R. Program for grades K-5th

o    The STAR program is a free program for K-5th grade that allows students an opportunity to reach their full potential, by giving them the knowledge and skills to take them on any journey they wish through life as physically literate learners. Students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities that promote teamwork and confidence through play as they Sharpen the Saw (habit 7).

  • Running Club for grades 3rd-5th

o    Lindbergh’s Running Club is a free program for 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. We meet once a week, for five weeks, on Wednesday’s from 3:45-4:45pm. We will begin with a warm up and stretches and then we hit the track! Students go at their own pace and are encouraged to work towards reaching their own personal goal. We continue the year motivating beginning runners to “run one lap then walk one” and to continue at that pace for as long as they can. Then, we build up to running two laps and walking one and so on. We finish our workouts with cool down stretches and reward students for reaching mileage milestones. Lindbergh’s Running Club is a happy and healthy place to finish your school day!

If you are interested in signing up your child for the either program, please check out the schedule and register at https://rb.gy/fpdikm to reserve your child’s spot in the club. You can sign up for as many classes as you wish.  However, space is limited for each class, so please check for availability and only sign up for the days your child can attend.

Helping kids stay active,

Mr. Harvey

Lost and Found

Parents,

It’s that time of year again where we clean out our lost and found. Please take some time over the next week to visit our lost and found tables outside the office to claim your child’s lost item(s). As a reminder, any unclaimed items will be donated in January to a charity. Have a wonderful day!

Board of Education Meeting

Lindbergh Community

We have been asked to present at the board meeting tonight about our National Blue Ribbon award. If you are interested in attending or watching it, please do so. The board meeting starts at 7pm and is held at the Administrative Service Center on Audette.

Have a great day!

Informational Alert

Lindbergh Community

To ensure student safety and maintain communication, I am sharing the following information to inform and not to alarm you regarding an incident experienced by one of our students.

During dismissal, one of our students was walking home on North Waverly when a white Explorer with tinted windows started following him, it honked its horn at him and appeared to drive and stop as the student continued to walk.  It wasn’t until the student got to his car that the other car left.  The student did the right thing and stayed away from the car.  This incident has been reported to the proper channels.

Please make sure to review stranger danger with your child.  Below are a few tips if needed:

  • If students walk or ride bikes to school, it is best to do so in groups
  • Be alert of your surroundings
  • Identify safe houses and adults in the neighborhood
  • Report any suspicious activities to an adult

We appreciate your help as we work together to keep all of our students safe.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Lindbergh Community,

Thank you for your continued generosity and your willingness to help those less fortunate. It was a meaningful experience that allowed our students to see how their actions impact the world in a positive way. DHS students will be in on Friday to pick up the packed boxes and donated money to deliver them to the identified charity. The support is always appreciated!!!

Boxes on the bottom are also filled and sealed!

National Blue Ribbon Award Comes Home!

Thank you to the entire Lindbergh community for everything you have done and continue to do. This award solidifies our commitment to learning and leading everyday. The students were ecstatic and enjoyed being recognized for their accomplishment. Congratulate them for their hard work!
